Just a little update...

So my "off season" is almost approaching...as the weather gets cooler, I do not expect to be as busy as I was during this summer or any summer, really. But I still would like to continue practicing and start creating more designs that are mine solely.

In the meantime, I sketch on paper and practice on my own arm since I dont have any children or younger siblings to practice my work on. Sounds a little silly but its true, lol. I am looking forward to a few events that I'll be working at in October so I will definitely keep you posted!

SN: Last night, I tested out my Diamond FX and Snazaroo white, just to check out the fluidity and opaqueness of the paint and I have to say, not too bad, I like them both! What do you think?!

New Designs

I recently ordered new paints and brushes and I just couldn't wait to use them! I get so excited when I order new paints...it has seriously become an obsession! A good one though :) This weekend I got a chance to try them out and although I did not take as many pictures as I would have wanted, the ones below are some of my favorite new designs.

P.S.* The pictures were taken with my cell phone so the quality is not the best. Unfortunately, I cant really use my fancy camera while I'm working since it just gets too complicated. BUT, if you have Instagram, please follow me at Gentilesh13!

Sketching...

Lately, I've had a lot of ideas going through my mind for designs and such. I've been exploring a bit (actually a lot!) and checking out other face painters' websites and I definitely admit that I have a lot to learn! I am certain, however, that I am loving this hobby of mine more and more each day. To me, it is no longer about painting a smiley face or rainbow but about painting ART (at least my interpretation of it)...being able to capture people's attention like this is what will make you stand out and worth every penny that you charge.

So I have been sketching on paper a bit...practicing on my sister is not always an option since I don't see her as often, but being able to put my ideas on paper is totally fine. This allows me to document my ideas at any time! Here are two drawings I just completed that I feel pretty good about, I used colored pencils and a black sharpie. My lines and tear drops are not as fluid because I can't get the same effect as I would if I worked with paints but I think you get the idea :)  Hope you like them!
